Bassist Ron Carter stands today as a living Jazz legend. His tenure with Miles Davis established him as one of the masters of the acoustic bass, and thankfully, he is still around making great music. When I listen to this album, I get a feeling that he was not too "cerebral" about it. He just gathered two brilliant musicians, and let the music happen in an easygoing flow among them. For masters like Ron, Kenny and Lewis, great things happen even if they don't break a sweat. From the ligthly swung version of "So What", to Ron's own joyfully simple melodies, this album is just a great example of cohesive and inspired Jazz trio playing. By MusicFreakこれもフルアルバム♪
Acoustic bass virtuoso Ron Carter plays sophisticated jazz that sizzles with energy, his style well-matched by pianist Kenny Barton and drummer Lewis Nash in this trio setting. Ron Carter's recordings as a leader have varied in shape and style, from his contemporary commercial CTI recordings, his Milestone LP's emphasizing the piccolo bass, more symphonic efforts, and straight-ahead efforts such as this one. With the extraordinary Kenny Barron at the piano and drummer Lewis Nash, Carter plays standards and four of his originals that all fall snugly into the modern mainstream of jazz. It's a relatively laid-back affair, as Barron's potential energy is for the most part subdued, while Nash and Carter lock in on a cooperative mindset.
In lieu of balance, the pianist tenderly wafts through a ballad version of "My Foolish Heart," leads out quaintly on "You'd Be So Nice to Come Home To," and springs along happily during the Randy Weston evergreen "Hi-Fly." There's more of a challenge to Carter's original material, as the cute tune "It's About Time" offers up tricky tandem playing from the bassist and Barron, "The Third Plane" is polite bop as the pianist slightly extrapolates, surrounding Carter's talk-back type melodic inserts, and while the emotional content of the trio darkens on the pensive, anticipatory "Three More Days."
There's a thin veil of swing and blues similar to the standard "Too Close for Comfort" on "Eddie's Theme," while the opener "So What," a song Carter played with Miles Davis and on his own a thousand times, sports his lead bass melody line with a freshness that is reinvented. Truly a team effort, this consistently well-played set should remind us all how brilliant these players are, especially with the cool Count Basie concept of "less is more" in mind. by Michael G. When cool-toned guitarist Johnny Smith left New York for Colorado in the mid-'50s, he didn't hang up his guitar. He continued to play locally and make occasional trips back to the Big Apple to record. The two sessions included on The Sound of the Johnny Smith Guitar were the results of two trips in 1960 and 1961. Just about everything goes right on these sessions.フルアルバムだす。
Smith's guitar especially shines in the company of pianist Hank Jones, bassist George Duvivier, and drummer Ed Shaughnessy in the second set. There's a lovely, soulful version of "'Round Midnight," with a nice long solo by Smith (he even bends a blue note or two) and a shorter, though poignant one, by Jones. The band goes into overdrive for "This Can't Be Love," filling it with bouncy rhythm and sharp lead work. Pianist Bob Pancoast, bassist George Roumanis, and drummer Mousey Alexander join Smith on the 1960 session, originally issued as Johnny Smith Plus the Trio. As with the 1961 set, solid instrumental choices like "Some of
These Days" and "Hippo the Sentimental Hippy" brighten up the proceedings. The band also bravely tackles Bud Powell's "Un Poco Loco," kicking it off with an extended, fiery drum workout by Alexander. In fact, the band doesn't join in until the last minute of the piece. Whether one considers the choice selections, good accompaniment, or wonderful guitar work by Smith, The Sound of the Johnny Smith Guitar is a lovely album and a good introduction to a fine guitarist.

伊東妙子 (Gt,Vo)、篠田智仁 (Ba / COOL WISE MAN)によるギター・ヴォーカル、ベースのデュオ、T字路s初のオリジナル・フル・アルバム「T字路s」が完成。3月15日(水)にリリースします。以前別バージョンを上げたかな??
今作は、渋川清彦が主演し話題となった映画「下衆の愛」のために書き下ろした「はきだめの愛」や「あの野郎」のアルバム・バージョン、T字路s初の裏打ちソング「月明かりの夜」、ポップスの王道を行く名曲「最後の手紙」などの新曲や現在廃盤で入手困難な自主制作1st CD「T字路s」より「T字路sのテーマ」「交差点」「今朝の目覚めは悪かった」の3曲を再録音し収録した計12曲。
上山実 (カンザスシティバンド)、下田卓 (カンザスシティバンド)、西内徹 (REGGAE DISCO ROCKERS)がサポートメンバーとして参加。レコーディング、ミキシング・エンジニアは前作に引き続き内田直之が務めている。

伊東妙子 (Gt,Vo)、篠田智仁 (Ba / COOL WISE MAN)によるギターヴォーカル、ベースのデュオ。
2010年からコンスタントに作品を作り続け、2015年には初の全編カヴァーアルバムとなる「Tの讃歌」をリリース。2016年には映画「下衆の愛」に主題歌となる「はきだめの愛」を書き下ろして提供し、映画と共に話題を集めている。また、NHKのEテレ「シャキーン!」にも楽曲や演奏、歌唱を提供するなど広く支持される活動を続けている。
二人が織りなす音楽はブルースやフォーク、ロックンロールを飲み込みつつ、ジャンルの壁を超えるものであり、代表曲である「泪橋」や「これさえあれば」をはじめ、人生における激情や悲喜交交を人間臭く表現した楽曲たちがファンの心を鷲掴みにしている。
